A standard and systematic approach to data collection is essential to establishing a repeatable and reproducible condition based monitoring program. VP-12-US standardizes the location and method for accessing consistent and quality acoustic data regardless of the ultrasound technician’s experience or enclosure rating.Easily identify potentially hazardous faults such as arcing, tracking and corona in electrical distribution systems and switchgear through the VP-12-US. NEMA 4 or higher rated enclosures require access through a port where technicians can safely collect data on energized equipment in accordance with NFPA 70E safety mandates. The grill allows ultrasound but prevents objects being pushed into the panel.

Ensure Accurate Ultrasound Inspections

Traditionally, an inspector is left to trace the seams around the panels of an enclosure and change the position of the airborne module to try and see if they can detect a higher intensity of the emission. The inspector can’t always achieve the Critical Angle due to diffraction of the sound wave and this makes it tough to record the best sound of the anomaly. The VP-12-US helps to insure the truest form of the emission can be recorded with minimal Diffraction and is more effective than scanning the seam on enclosed equipment and for hermetically sealed cabinets.
